How do I make an appointment at Victorian Dermatology & Surgery?
Appointments can be made via the phone on 03 9509 1417.
Please note that you will require a valid referral from your General Practitioner before we can book your appointment. Your GP can send your referral via email: enquiries@vdas.com.au it can be posted, or you can drop it off at our consulting rooms at Level 1, 253 Wattletree Road, Malvern.
How long does it take to get an appointment at Victorian Dermatology & Surgery?
We try to make our wait times as short as possible. Typically we can book appointments within 1 to 2 weeks of receiving your General Practitioner’s referral. If your matter is more urgent, your GP can contact us directly.
Can I claim any Medicare rebate?
For consultations, patients with a valid referral from their General Practitioner are entitled to a partial Medicare refund.
If you have a DVA Gold or White card the costs of all treatments, doctor’s fees and theatre fees are fully covered.
All accounts must be settled on the day of consultation.
Can I claim from my private health insurance fund?
The doctors at Victorian Dermatology & Surgery are known gap providers, so there are no out of pocket expenses with most health funds for surgical fees on non-cosmetic procedures performed at The Avenue Private Hospital. Please ask our staff for the level of cover offered by your health fund.
Victorian Dermatology & Surgery does perform some surgical procedures at our consulting rooms in Malvern. These are not covered by private health insurance.
All accounts must be settled on the day of consultation.
Who can I bring with me to the consultation?
We encourage you to bring a friend or family member with you to your first consultation. They can assist you with remembering what was discussed during the consultation. We request you limit this to only one person. Victorian Dermatology & Surgery does not have facilities for toddlers or small children.
How often will I have to visit Victorian Dermatology & Surgery?
Once your treatment is complete and optimal results are achieved, you will be returned to the care of your referring doctor for ongoing surveillance. Occasionally your GP may request we remain involved in your care on an ongoing basis.
